Blackbaud API Only Returning ‘Pledgepayment’ for Different Gift Methods

Hi All,
Good morning!
We use a daily Power Automate flow to email Gift Officers when their prospects make a donation. I’ve noticed that the Blackbaud API is returning the same gift type value, “Pledgepayment,” whether a pledge installment is paid in cash or with stock, even though database view shows more specific gift types.

For example, let’s say Smith makes a $200 pledge. For the first installment, Smith pays in cash; in database view this shows as pay-cash, but the API still shows the gift type as “Pledgepayment.” For the second installment, Smith pays by selling stock; in database view this shows as pay-stock/Property(sold), but again the API gift type is just “Pledgepayment.”

Because of this, our email notifications cannot clearly show whether the payment was cash or stock. Has anyone found a reliable way to identify the specific payment method in the API data so the email can display a more accurate gift type (for example, Cash Pledge Payment vs Stock/Property Pledge Payment)? If my understanding of how the API handles these gift types is incorrect, please let me know or share how you are handling this in your own flows.

Thank you!
