Tax Season Resources 

As we enter 2026, Blackbaud knows this is a busy time for your organization and we are here to share some resources to help you prepare for success!

  • Blackbaud has created a dedicated resource that outlines the steps involved with preparing for tax season.  Our Financial Edge NXT End of Year & Tax Resources site will guide you through the steps for a smooth 1099 filing. 
  • Blackbaud will host another Q&A session for tax season preparation. 
    • January 14th, 2:00 P.M EST. Register for this Tax Season session today! 
  • Aatrix 1099 functionality is available in Financial Edge NXT.  Review information on how to access 1099s and about recent Aatrix changes in this KB article.  

The Financial Edge NXT Team hopes these resources will help you prepare for a successful tax season!  Additional notifications will be shared in our products and in the Financial Edge NXT Resource Center and the Financial Edge NXT Product Help.

What’s New 

We’re excited to announce several powerful enhancements that are now available in Financial Edge NXT web view. These updates are designed to streamline your workflows and give you more control over your financial data. 

  • Global opt-in for Generative AI. Organization admins can now enable all current and future generative AI features powered by Blackbaud AI with one global setting — giving your organization centralized control, clear compliance, and future-ready access to AI-powered tools that boost productivity and personalization. 

The following features are in EAP for some customers. 

  • Blackbaud AI - Chat 
  • Automated deposits 

The following features are in LA for some customers. 

  • Reports generate seamlessly in the background so you can work without disruption. 
  • Receivables – Manage returns  

What’s Next 

We’re currently working on several features and enhancements for Financial Edge NXT web view. Here are some of the updates you’ll see in upcoming releases: 

  • Expenses — Generate invoice requests 
  • Allocations — Manage indirect cost allocations 
  • Automated deposits —  Only for gifts disbursed through Blackbaud Merchant Services (now part of Blackbaud Integrated Payments) 
  • Receivables — Third-party billing 
  • Public sector bodies report (Canada customers) — Will be available in Receivables with updated filters 
  • Business activity statement (Australia and New Zealand customers) — Will be available in Receivables with updated filters

We are excited to be nearing the finish line of our Total Web Solution (TWS) journey! Over the new couple months want to ensure you have time to adopt, while also allowing time for improvements in usability and performance, based on your feedback!

  • Community Announcements. The Community is a great way to stay informed. Subscribe to Financial Edge NXT Community Announcements by clicking on the "Subscribe" link at the top of this blog. You can then select how often you want to receive update notifications.  
  • Release Updates. Check out What's Recent, What's New, and What's Next to get all the details on prior, current, and future releases. To help keep you up to date on the most recent developments, What's New automatically opens when you log in to the web view.  
  • In-Product Help. Help documentation throughout Financial Edge NXT is context-sensitive. So, no matter where you are in the solution, you can click the bright green question mark at the top right of your screen to get help for that feature.  
  • Product Update Briefings (PUB). Check out the most recent Financial Edge NXT PUB, now on demand, to hear from our product management team directly on the latest and upcoming development for Financial Edge NXT!
