Copy Link in Query

Can anyone share what scenario you use the Copy Link "to query" and not just the "to results" to share with another individual or on your quick links on the Home page. If you're in a query, why would you copy that link to a query? Thanks in advance!

  • I've used this feature when I build a query for someone else but they may need to modify the criteria from time to time (for ex. update a date range or change gift amount). So I send them the link to the query rather than the results. In dbv, I would build a query, make sure it is marked that others can modify and then send an email with the name of the query and the folder it is in to the other user. With WV, I send them the link to the query without needing to make sure I don't misspell the name :)

  • Another new feature I've not tackled yet, but was wondering what the difference was. This makes sense! Thank you Tatyana!

  • I use this the same as @Tatyana Leifman does. I love this in WV and it has been a great feature for training team members to take ownership of their queries. I create the "template" and then send them the link and they can see the criteria, etc and play around with it to learn more and see results. Our team feels it has helped them build confidence in this area and they feel empowered when I'm not available to run queries for them. Great question, @Denise Miller !

  • @Cortney Moore I am ALL about empowering others in the database and NXT has so many wonderful features we're finding that have already made a world of difference, especially for our frontline fundraisers in leaps and bounds. Exciting times for sure! Thanks a bunch! Have a great weekend @Tatyana Leifman and @Cortney Moore!
