Canvas/Blackbaud Grade Passback Issue

Hello, are there any schools in this community that use Canvas and grade passback to Blackbaud? We’ve been utilizing this feature since August of last year, with a few hiccups here and there. As of Tuesday, 3/17, the passback is no longer working for full-year courses (one-semester and quarter courses are syncing as expected).

The Canvas team indicates that the grades are being sent, but Blackbaud is rejecting them. The error we are seeing is “CannotCalculateGradingPeriod.” We have not made any changes to our terms or grading periods, and we’ve verified that all dates match across both platforms. Assignment dates also fall within the current grading periods. Remastering the passback in Canvas does not do the trick.

I currently have a ticket open with Blackbaud, but I’m curious if anyone else has experienced a similar issue.

Hi @Joanna Szymanski it looks like the issue has resolved according to the support notes. I just wanted to check in and make sure everything is good on your end! Looks like engineers are looking for a root cause to ensure stability.
