NXT Settings for Soft Credits

We have a donor that gave a gift that required us to add several soft credits. I still work in DB view, but our fundraisers work only in NXT and we saw this today that caused a LOT of confusion. The soft credit for this donor is $152, but when you look at the NXT view, you have to look in the details to see that, but the $1,086 is listed under the gift amount, so the fundraiser thought the $1,086 was the gift attributed to this donor.

Is there a setting that can help us clear up confusion on things like this?

Unfortunately there is none (imagine when the gift is 5 figures soft credited to dozens of donors :). I believe there might be an idea in the idea bank requesting a change to this very confusing situation.

It is yet another thing that makes the Giving History tile not very helpful (another is that it doesn't show matching gifts nor gift reference).

A reminder that in the PUB in May Blackbaud said the "Giving history" tile in the constituent record is going to be going away to be replaced by a Gifts tab that will be a Gifts list which will solve most of these problems. In the meantime, click on the tile's "Work with gifts" to do that. You might also want to add your vote to or create an Idea Bank for the Soft Credit display.

I have gone to bat on the way soft credits appear, both in database view and web view. I think the way it is now is an update to how it was appearing less than a year ago. As @Bill Connors mentioned, the look and feel of the constituent record is going to change. It is a good time to get your feedback into the idea bank, maybe with a new idea since the ones on this are old and marked as "shipped."

@David Springer will there be an EAP opportunity for the tabbed constituent view or some town halls where users can bring up concerns like this? It looked like such a major change for those who have been in web view for a while.
