Pledge Balance in Constituent "Get Lifetime Giving" endpoint is - incorrectly - including the value of planned gifts.

Hi I am finding that the "Pledge Balance" returned by the Constituent "Get Lifetime Giving" endpoint is - incorrectly - including the value of planned gifts in addition to any balances on pledges.

Can someone else please confirm if they are getting the same result? In our NXT, planned gifts do not show a balance, but I'd like to confirm if there's something about our setup that might be contributing to the discrepancy with the pledge balance returned by the API - or if it's a more generic bug in that endpoint.

Hi @Carlos Pelay since we are unsure if it is a discrepancy or perhaps a bug - would you be able to open a support ticket to investigate further? I'll tag in @Erik Leaver as well to see if he's aware, but this is something the support team would be able to gather details from you and identify what's going on.

I just tried the lifetime giving endpoint and it correctly show pledge balance on a record that has Planned Gift and Pledge with open balance.

Thanks for checking @Alex Wong . Attached screenshot shows the discrepancy I am getting. This constituent shows zero balance on their pledges in NXT and a $1m planned gift - but the API is reporting a $1m pledge balance.

I've submitted a ticket - maybe its something on our end.

Check your Giving analysis Setting in RE NXT and see where Planned Gift is listed.

@Alex Wong - sorry one more question: after additional testing the API seems to be adding only "unrealized" planned gift totals (not just total amount of planned gifts) and adding to any pledge balance totals (if any exist) to report "total pledge balance".

When you checked on your side, do you recall if the planned gift was already paid off or not?

@Carlos Pelay Hi Carlos, I just took a look at my settings under Giving Analysis and we do not include Planned Gifts in our Revenue. There is a note at the bottom of it which says:

Planned giftsIf you include both one-time gifts and planned gifts, received revenue subtracts any realized revenue from the planned gift amount to prevent double-counting.

Thanks Carol, I haven't been able to connect with our Admin to verify our settings yet, but we do recognize Planned Gifts when they are first made (vs realized). I think that probably does have something to do with the result I am getting with the API.

The weird thing is when I pull the same data via a query in NXT it does not include un-realized planned gifts in pledge balances. 🤷‍♂️
