Looking for PBI Custom Connector Users

Are you a power user of the Power BI Custom Connector? If so, I'm looking for some user feedback as we look to add functionality leveraging the Query API which would enrich the data available through the connector.

Just add a comment below noting your use of the connector and I'll reach out - aiming for a small group meeting on 8/19 at 12pm et.

    I don't use Power BI Custom Connector in production use, but knows the details of what it provides/not provide. I am on vacation 8/13-8/23 though, so won't make your meeting date. Here's a few enhancement I think would be useful:

    • Single Record Get issue - Iterator
      • i.e. Pledge Installment; Pledge Payment
    • Custom Field taking too long to load
      • especially when needing to filter on only a few Category
    • Query API (you mentioned already)
      • will be interesting to see how you can adopt the workflow of executing query > iteratively ask when it's complete > download

    I've tried using the Power BI Custom Connector, but wasn't able to get the data I needed from it. A few months ago I did try extending the connector to include the Query API, which all worked except that I couldn't find a way to cache the query results while adding steps in Power Query (my method would just re-run the whole execution process every time I added a step). It'd be great to have it included, so I'm eager to hear more!
