Credit Card Fees on Special Event Registrations

We've implemented a 3% Credit Card Processing Fee for online sales. But it doesn't apply to donations or Special Event registrations. Anyone know if there's a way to rig it so it will apply to Special Events?

    @Candace Ross It's pretty easy (I've included a couple of screenshots). It all happens under the Tickets sections. First, you create the Fee under pricing. It can be per order or per item. And either a percent or a flat fee. Once you save that, you head over to the Sales Method Configuration, select online sales, find the fees tab, and add the fee. And that's pretty much it. There might be some mapping if fees aren't already correctly mapped, but I didn't run into any issues. Just wish it also applied to Special Event tickets.

    @Claire McCann Hello! We are trying to implement a CC processing fee as well. Are you just using it on your online transactions or also in person purchases? We'd like to add it to our ticketing and merchandise sales, but only want it to apply to tender type credit card. Have you used it for anything other than online sales?

    @Amie Honey Did you ever figure this out? We are in the same boat of needing to apply CC processing fees to online, in-person, and gift shop sales and are researching the best way to go about this. Any help is appreciated!

    @Heather De La Garza No, we were unable to implement the CC processing fee. Making several calls to Blackbaud, we were told there's not a way to do that. Initially, we thought we could use the "tax" fields and setup up a new one, calling it CC processing fee instead. One of the issues was Altru won't allow you to attach the fee to just a certain tender type (credit cards or debit cards). It would attach the fee to all transastions or none. And we only want to charge it to those paying with a credit/debit card. Blackbaud informed us Altru isn't set up to do this, attach a fee/tax to just one tender type. If you find out any other way, please let me know!

    @Claire McCann Were you able to attach your CC processing fee to only credit card purchases, and not cash or gift card purchases?

    @Amie Honey I don't think you can limit the fees to particular payment methods - only sales methods. That's one of two reasons our fees only apply to online sales orders. The other reason is that, in Massachusetts, there's a lot of regulations around charging additional fees. In essence, seemingly no matter what the fee is, you have to provide an alternative option to avoid any type of processing fees. So we don't have the fees apply to advanced sales or daily sales. Hope that's helpful!
