New budget not showing up on my reports

My budget column numbers are all zeros when I try to run reports using the new budget scenario I uploaded today. I made sure I chose the new scenario when running the report so it doesn't seem to be that. I uploaded using the Excel Budget Creator, which I've been using for several years and never had this problem until this year.

If you're using the same scenario name in the budget parameter, I don't see any reason it shouldn't work. That seems odd.

I ran my report again this morning and the budget is now showing up. I'm wondering if there is some kind of update that runs overnight? If that's the case, the support people should know that. I had a long chat with support about this yesterday, and that person had no idea what was causing the problem. They even suggested that I should create a new Chart Organizer. I've never had to do that before…Anyway, it's finally showing up on my reports so I can move forward.

no , once the budget is in and saved, the report can see it immediately. Hard to troubleshoot after the fact now that it's working but in my experience it's usually a column setup issue, particularly if using a saved report. While using same budget scenario but if there is a filter on the report/ column, or the date on the budget column didn't update to new FY budget, are the most likely culprits

That was not the case with this one. I haven't made any changes to the report setup since yesterday, but suddenly it is working this morning. I had this same problem about a week ago with an earlier version of our new budget, but the budget finally started showing up on the report after a couple of hours. Very weird.

I am having the same issue! I guess I will wait and see if it magically appears tomorrow morning. ?

  • @Elizabeth Herb I'm glad to know I'm not crazy ?

I am experiencing the same issue that Susan encountered. Could this be a glitch?

If you encounter this issue again, go to the budget variables in your report query, delete the variables, and then reinsert them. That should solve the problem. I've had the same issue, and this method has worked for me.

  • I know this is an old post, but I'm searching chats for this precise issue. I created a budget, it showed up in the report. I made a change to the chart organizer - adding a section, the section didn't show up in the report. Neither did the budget that was previously showing. The new section had nothing to do with the budget that was just created. I reran the report a few times, removed/changed the chart organizer, added the chart organizer back to the report, refreshed the browser and eventually, the report generated as intended. Jump forward a few hours, the budget and the new report section are no longer populating on the report. Get up this morning, the report runs. I needed this report to send out last night. It's unacceptable that you have to wait overnight for changes to applied.

  • Actively having this issue. Reports were generating fine, then minutes later my budget columns are all $0. This is affecting all reports.
