Student access to files uploaded to a Parent-View Student Checklist

My school had hoped to use Student Checklists to allow parents to upload documentation (as one of a few steps). Even though all the settings are set to be parent-view only, the uploaded documentation (Misc. File) becomes visible to the student under their Files & Forms, which we do not want. There's an existing idea to fix this https://blackbaudk12.ideas.aha.io/ideas/K12OB-I-2726. Please vote so Blackbaud improves the privacy settings on Student Checklist uploads! I know other schools, @Nancy Kierstead, have been limited by this issue as well.

    I would love to see this issue resolved. We can restrict “Files and Forms” from Student view in that area via Upload User Files. Makes sense to me we should have the ability to restrict all Files and Forms that can be shown in that area.

    @Tracy Dodge @Kelsey Huijgen Hi Kelsey! Any chance this will be addressed with a future update? I'd love to be able to use student checklists for uploads but I don't want the documents showing up to the student every time they log in to their account.

    Hi @Nancy Kierstead! We are planning on doing this work, but we won't be able to fit it until sometime over the summer break. The plan is to have the files follow the settings for the checklist step, so if the step is set to only show to parents for example, then the file will also only show to parents. Our goal is to have this ready before the back to school season, so keep an eye on the release notes around that time!

    Hi, Looks like this was addressed so student cannot see uploaded files from Student Checklists, but we have WAY too many faculty who can see the items. The help says I can restrict this in Core>Manage user files area, but my birth certificate file type was not built there, it was built in Enrollment management. How can I restrict these birth certificates being uploaded on student checklists to only those who need to see them?
