how to get account balance from the beginning of the period of the fiscal year from API

I would like to fetch account balance from get account API for the current fiscal year. It seems that general ledger summaries (generalledger/v1/summary/{fiscal_year_id}) has balance but only for closed fiscal period. I'm wondering if i could use period summary for current fiscal year and previous fiscal year which are not closed (generalledger/v1/periodsummary/summaries). My sandbox environment returns empty set for period summary. Please advice.

Hi @Jing Zhang, please follow the sequence below and let us know if this resolves the issue.

https://api.sky.blackbaud.com/generalledger/v1/periodsummary/summarize - This endpoint must be called first, with the appropriate switches to select what year/period ID you wish to summarize. The summarization process may take several minutes, but will continue processing even if you are making other API calls right after it. Not providing a period ID or providing a period ID of 0 will summarize all open and unoptimized periods.
https://api.sky.blackbaud.com/generalledger/v1/periodsummary/processinginfo - This endpoint reports on the current status of the summarize request, whether it is completed, still running, or failed.
https://api.sky.blackbaud.com/generalledger/v1/periodsummary/summaries[?offset][&limit][…]riod_id][… - Once the summarization process is complete, this is the endpoint you use to get data returned.
