bbcon Session Catalog: please show us the speakers (like UC26 does!)

Yes! @Kristen Martin, can you share the feedback that when it comes to the Agenda Builder that folks desperately want a grid view? This also applies to all conferences - so #bbdevdays and K-12 UC.

@Kristen Martin — yes, exactly! And since the Events team is listening, let me lay out the full wish list, organized by where each issue lives. Some of this applies to both the Session Catalog and Agenda Builder, and some is Agenda Builder-specific.

For both the Session Catalog and Agenda Builder:

1. Filters should work as OR within a filter, and AND across filters. If I select multiple products, show me sessions matching any of them — Raiser's Edge or Altru. But when I combine different filter types, they should narrow the results: Product is (Raiser's Edge or Altru) AND Track is Fundraising. Historically, combining filters has returned every session matching either one, which defeats the purpose of filtering.

2. Consistent filter options across both tools. UC26's Session Catalog lets us filter by Track, Products, Session Type, and Skill Level. Both tools should offer the same set — it's confusing when I can slice sessions one way in the catalog and a different way when building my agenda.

3. Filter or search by speaker. This whole thread started because we couldn't see speakers. Now that they're in the catalog, let us search and filter on them in both places.

For Agenda Builder specifically:

4. Give us a grid view. Many of us plan by time slot, not by scrolling a list. I want to say "show me everything offered Tuesday at 3pm," apply my filters to just that slot, and see it at a glance — the way the old foldout session grid worked. A "day" filter isn't granular enough, and any time-based view needs to account for sessions that overlap by a few minutes, like Expo Hall showcases.

5. Filters should persist across days. In the past, moving from Tuesday to Wednesday reset everything. Set the filters once, keep them as I browse each day, and give me a "clear all filters" button when I'm done.

6. Allow overlaps. Previously you couldn't add a session if anything occupied that slot — a coffee break, a showcase, another session. We need to double-book, both for genuine overlaps and to hold a backup option in case a room fills up.

7. Show my agenda alongside the session list. Let me see my chosen agenda in a panel on the right while I browse and add from the full list. Today you have to flip back and forth between the list and your agenda to remember what's booked in a slot — and every flip resets filters and scroll position. A side-by-side view means I can compare what I've booked against what I'm considering without losing my place.

8. "Add All to Calendar" in one step. Adding sessions to Outlook one at a time is tedious. Let us export our entire agenda to Outlook, Google, or iCal in one fell swoop — and ideally as a live sync, so if a room or time changes, our calendars update instead of going stale.

And one more that spans both:

9. A virtual attendee view for the Session Catalog and Agenda Builder. Virtual access is really two different experiences: mainstage sessions livestreamed live Sep 29–Oct 1, and a limited selection of breakout recordings rolling out starting Oct 15. That distinction is lost on a LOT of people — last year tons of virtual attendees assumed they could attend breakout sessions live during conference week, and nothing in the catalog or Agenda Builder corrected them. And since Agenda Builder is already tied to your registration, it knows who's virtual — the view could reflect your pass type automatically, no extra filter needed. Show virtual registrants only what their pass actually includes, with each session clearly labeled: livestreamed live, recording coming Oct 15, or in-person only. And since only some breakouts get recorded, showing "will this session be recorded?" would help in-person attendees too — it's the single most useful data point when deciding between two conflicting sessions.

And this applies beyond bbcon — #bbdevdays and the K-12 UC would benefit from all of the same.
