Does you organization have AI policies? And would you be willing to share those policies?

Hi everyone,

My organization just formed an AI working group and I am the Development representative in the group. We are currently working on putting a formal policy in place and have been reaching out to see what other organizations are doing. If your organization has a policy in place would you be willing to share what you have? Also if it's just your department, I'd love to see what policies you have in place for AI associated with fundraising because I also want to develop policies for my team.

If you don't want to share them here, you can reach me at asalvage@mbl.edu

Thanks!

Not examples of AI policies, but here are some resources from a webinar we did on creating AI policies with Peter Panepento from Turn Two Communications:

Don't have anything but it's something we'll need soon. This was shared in a recent BB webinar, but it hasn't been updated since 2024 and 46 pages - too long for us. Interested to see if anyone has anything better: https://www.responsible.ai/ai-policy-template/

We're a private K-8 school, our focus policy-wise would be mainly on AI relating to Academics and Development.

  • Our college has some guiding principles for AI and approved tools but Advancement still had questions about what information could go into AI tools. Since, we have Google for Education, I used Notebook LM to synthesize the Responsible AI template, Blackbaud Institute research, and other resources with our internal data classification definitions for the protection of confidential information. The policy outlines the importance of human-in-the-loop and then covers what kind of institutional data can go into which tools. We have Chat from Blackbaud AI turned on so we cover use cases for that as well. Then my boss asked for some novel ways AI could support our work.
