Didn't get a chance to attend the Raiser’s Edge NXT Product Update Briefing? Want to know what was discussed and highlighted? Now, you can catch what you missed and learn about the future of Raiser’s Edge NXT.

We shared some major news about what’s to come for Raiser’s Edge NXT in this week’s Product Update Briefings. Our focus remains on transforming Raiser’s Edge NXT into a complete web solution, and we plan to finalize all critical workflows in web view by the end of 2025.

What is Blackbaud’s focus for Raiser’s Edge NXT?

The original thought behind Raiser’s Edge NXT was to provide a smooth transition from Raiser’s Edge to a fully redesigned, web-based, more impactful set of tools even than the original, without a migration. In this plan we focused on creating complete workflows – that is, all the tools you need to achieve a specific outcome or task. We started by creating tools for frontline fundraising teams, helping streamline their work and in many cases bringing them into the system for the first time. We have continued with this plan, adding workflows for executive directors, marketers, IT technical services, event managers, gift operations, and so forth.

And yet it was a journey always intended to reach a conclusion, where we would have all major workflows built out in the web view. During this product update we discussed what the rest of the journey to web view will look like.

By the end of 2025, we intend to deliver a Total Web Solution that will allow you to complete all your work in web view and not have to switch views. We are accelerating the pace of our modernization to achieve this goal. We will also continue to add value to the platform through targeted innovation, including AI tools and other advanced functionality. And we’ll strengthen connections with other Blackbaud products and expand integration options and support for partner solutions across the Blackbaud ecosystem.

What does this mean for the future of database view?

Currently, there is no set date to phase out database view. Our current priority is to continue building out end-to-end workflows in web view and to assist you in adopting new functionality in web view to help you make a smooth transition.

Why are incomplete workflows being released in web view?

Our agile development methodology means we proceed in stages to build complete workflows in web view. We introduce new features once we have created a small but viable feature set, and then iterate on this feature set over time, sometimes quite rapidly. Some organizations find value in these limited features as we release them; the iterative approach also enables us to gather feedback as we build toward full-fledged web view capabilities.

How can I stay informed about the developments in web view?

We are creating an informational page for current customers that will receive regular updates to keep you informed about the development of web view. You will find valuable feature release information, educational opportunities through Blackbaud University and webinars, and interactive gatherings like town halls and coffee chats.
