Group or Resource Board?

What is everyone's opinion on what should be a group and what should be a tile on the resource board. Ex. we are adding counseling parent resource content (curated website links, books, etc.) and wondering where it should go. Another example might be auxiliary programs sign up information or college advising resources. Thank you in advance for any responses!

I think much of that answer has to do with how dynamic the content will be and who will be responsible for updating that content. Though I am not an expert on K-12 roles, how we have it set up, very few people can futz with the tiles. Accordingly, if content is going to be very dynamic having the person responsible for that assigned as the group owner will make updating easier. The other benefit of a group is that you can blast out communications to the members. Groups also have much more flexibility in the organization of information.

We have a hybrid set up for the college counseling program. The is a Resource Tile that contains very basic information: some downloads, some links, info about our test prep partner, and an embedded version of our College Counseling Handbook. In the opening blurb on the tile, we tell the reader that much more information is available in the college counseling group and provide a link so the reader can access it very easily.

    College Counseling Community Group

The College Counseling Community Group contains much more information as well as specifics topics in the college counseling process you might want to research and the college counseling calendar. The College Counseling Community may be accessed here.

    Hope that helps.
