Do Not Email is not an option when creating a list?

I'm creating a list for an email blast. Why is "Do Not Email' not an option to select for constituency codes to exclude? My list is pulling people who have previously unsubscribed from other email blasts because I can't select them to exclude. It does let me exclude Do Not Mail and Do Not Solicit. HELP??

In case this helps to know Vanessa Hales‍, Email Marketing in RENXT automatically suppresses delivery to email addresses marked as Do Not Email on the constituent record in RENXT (aka Do Not Contact in database view)...even of those recipients are in your RENXT recipient list. Hi Chris,

I expected that to be true, however just last email blast we had people receive it who had unsubscribed from the last email blast and still got the next one. So my confidence in the automatic process isn't very firm!

Well that's certainly not good or how RENXT's automatic email suppression is expected to function. Have you by chance reported that to our Support team? If you'd be able to share some information with them about which recipient email addresses were opted out and in which specific email blast they subsequently received an email, that would be super helpful in our identifying what happened and if necessary fixing the root cause.

Does NXT look at the "DNC" indicator next to the email address in database view or the "requests no email' checkbox in database view?


It should look at the "requests no email" checkbox as that is in inherent Netcommunity setting across all our donor lists.

Before we can transition to NXT email marketing we need this clarified or fixed!

Hi Elaine Tucker‍. Email Marketing in RENXT automatically suppresses recipients that meet either of those criteria:


- Do Not Contact (also shown as Do Not Email in RENXT) is checked/set on the RE constituent record

- Requests No Email is set in database view


There are also other reasons that can result in automatic suppression. They are all outlined in this KB article. Hopefully that helps.
