Curious: number of donation forms

I am curious: how many active donation forms does your org manage at once? 2, 5, 10+? 

What have you heard about best practices for the number of donation forms?

I think you'll find that answers to this question will vary widely depending on the size and complexity of programs. I do have some general recommendations:


Organize your work with Campaigns. Start with your "evergreen" campaign -- donation pages that you will always have up and available. In this campaign you may want to have multiple donation forms (website, social, and non-fundraising specific emails [that have a donate link in a header/footer]). For each major fundraising effort, create a Campaign and the associated donation forms. A baseline might be 4-6 campaigns a year, each with 2-4 donation forms in them.


This approach allows you to easily report on each campaign and also makes it simple to archive and redirect forms so you can keep the work managable.

Thanks for your response. I could definitely do a better job of keeping our campaigns organized. 


I was asking because I was curious. Last week, I went down the Blackbaud Checkout rabbit hole (with the implementation kit) to try to get that working on my LO forms. When I hit a minor roadblock, I turned to support chat. Long story short: I ended up anxious I had way too many donation forms (support chat seemed to think orgs generally have 2) and also fairly certain I was not up to implementing Blackbaud Checkout because I'd have to rebuild every form in pagebuilder. 


I thought I'd ease my anxiety by asking how many forms other orgs had, and your answer has helped.

Glad it helped. I'd encourage you to open a new thread about the issue you encountered with the Checkout form. Using checkout usually only involves a small snippet of code for the PageBuilder page.
