Donating Memberships for Raffles and Auctions

We want to be able to donate memberships to other organizations to use in raffles and auctions. How do you do this when the recipient is not known?

We issue a gift certificate noting the name of the org it was donated to. Membership is entered when the certificate is redeemed.

Thanks for the suggestion. We were hoping to be able to provide something like a one-time use code so the successful auction or raffle winner could go online and redeem. But this is a good option if a one-time code isn't possible thru Altru.

We do something similar to Debbie! We create a record in Altru with the name of the organization to whom we are donating the membership. Then we send a gift certificate with the level of membership, instructions for the winner to contact us to activate the membership, and a code. The code is the Look-up ID of the record in Altru. When the winner contacts us, we update the record with their information and activate the membership. I also have a spreadsheet where we track who we have donated to and if/ when it was redeemed.
