Full message in text message notifications

In the notifications settings its possible to change the message that is sent via text message from Messages, but it doesn't seem possible to include the message, is this correct? I don't mind making people sign in to respond or from their email, but its a bother to have to sign in from a text, especially if its just an announcement like “no school today” or something. Am I missing something that allows that? Thanks!

  • @Amanda Polson Your first statement is correct. This is a NOTIFICATION that there is communication the needs to be read within Blackbaud. It is not the message itself.

  • @Amanda Polson Technically you could include the message if you were able to fit your message in the headline field and it was less than 160 characters. You wouldn't want to change all of the text notifications this way, but if you wanted to customized announcements (for example), and only use that type when sending short notifications like, “No School” etc, then that would work.

But you are limited to only 5 merge fields for text notifications and none of them will include the message body.
