Mastercard transaction notification

We are still using RE7 (not NXT) and are trying to find a way comply with the Mastercard requirement to notify monthly donors every time we charge their cards. I am thinking that creating an export of all successful MC transactions each month and then using a mailmerge to email will be the easiest. My problem is figuring out how to throttle the email send through Outlook so that we don't get into trouble with ISPs who might think we are spamming recipients.

Has anyone gone down this path and found a good solution? Thanks for any feedback.

we are also using RE7. You can create a email merge in Word as long as the email address is in the data file.

Creating the email merge is not the difficulty for us. Because we currently have about 1200 MC monthly donors we have to be careful that when we create and send the emails they don't all get sent at once because that mass of gmail and hotmail… messages is what can cause google and MS etc. to start viewing our messages as spam.

I need to find a way to “trickle” the messages out say 50/hour or something like that.

@robert badley I'm looking into the mail merge from Word now but do you know what the time line is for the acknowledgements? Do you have to notify the donor the same day? I have emailed Mastercard but not had a reply yet.
