WISEPOS Readers often need rebooting to connect

After loads of problems with the older P400 terminals, they were eventually replaced with BBPOS WISEPOS e payment terminals. These have been OK in general, but frequently Altru will not connect to one or the other terminal, or to both, without the terminal being rebooted, sometimes two or three times. Needless to say this is very annoying for our cashiers. Altru has no suggestions other than to turn the terminals off every night and back on in the morning would would be even more burdensome. My guess is that, assuming that the terminals are doing the normal midnight reboot that Stripe says is the default, that the terminals don't always come up and connect correctly, though the WiFi network health check on both the terminals and the workstation report that all is OK with the network and nothing else on the network has any problems.

Has anyone else experienced this with the WISEPOS readers and if so found a solution?

Thanks.

  • @David Sawyer We are running in to the same issue. We have not found a solution so I am following to see if anyone else has. Thanks.

  • @David Sawyer We are still having this issue intermittently, and the solution to shut down the device at the end of night and start up at the beginning of the day has not made an improvement. Can this get elevated to receive a response from the Altru support team?
