NXT and Banner

Looking for other organizations that use Raiser's Edge NXT for donor management and Banner for accounting.

Currently, we process gifts daily into NXT and feed to Banner. Payment from Blackbaud Merchant Services disburse credit card funds on a weekly basis. Our accounting department would like us to wait to post anything to Banner until the funds have actually been received. On the other hand our fundraising department is concerned with getting acknowledgements out in a timely manner (48 hours max, not a week).

So my question is: Would it be okay if I approve gift batches in NXT on a daily basis (to get acknowledgments out quickly), but only post to the GL on a weekly basis (to accommodate accounting department request) ? Will it cause a problem either with accounting or with NXT if I have gift dates and GL post dates that do not match?
