Azure Migration for NXT and Database view

Hello,

My organization currently runs both on database view and NXT. Is it necessary to move over to Azure since we have NXT?

  • From my understanding, everyone who is still hosted by Blackbaud will be eventually moved over to Azure. I don't think you'll be able to permanently avoid this move.

Tatyana is correct. Everyone will need to make this move eventually. All it is doing is changing where your hosted data is stored, from a BB hosted server to a Azure hosted one. For front-end users there are minimal changes to their experience - for example the drop-down menu to access DBV from WV has more options on Azure.

Read through the provided documentation and make sure you complete steps like saving files from your current BB FTP folder prior to the move; you'll get a new FTP folder following the move.

Finally - it's important to remember that while BB has recently changed tactics from 'asking' orgs to make the move to now 'telling' orgs they are moving, this has been occurring for 4-5 years now. This is not new.
