Very New (very new!) to Raiser's Edge NXT

I apologize if this question has been asked before . My organization uses Raiser's Edge NXT but hasn't utilized all its features to its full potential. I am new to RE and starting from scratch trying to clean up a few things. Is there a way to link a google sheet from our website to automatically feed into our constituent database on RE? To add to this, we have a google sheet with information that I would like to import into RE. I am not sure how to do this. I do not think I have ImportOmatic and I am having launching the Database View. Any help is appreciated.

You are probably not utilizing RE NXT to its full potential because it is not fully formed to begin with and most work needs to be done in RE Database view such as import. Any importing needs to done has to be done in RE Database view.

  • Although I may disagree with Joe on some things (I like RE NXT and do most of my work there), he's right that importing still needs to be done in Database View. Here's an article that goes over the import process if it's new to you.

Setting up a process to import constituents automatically from your Google sheet would be more complicated. You would either need to find something in the marketplace that could do that for you, or else build it yourself by programming it or using a tool like Power Automate.

There are a few importing tool out in the marketplace for RE NXT. Some "webview" option and some "dbview": Omatic Cloud, Import-O-matic, Importacular, SMARTSync, etc.

I do not believe any of these option will "automatically import from google sheet", so there will be some "exporting" from google sheet then import using these tools.

If you want an automated option, you will have to build it yourselves. Given you are new to RE NXT, this path would be more difficult, or if your org supports it, you can get a consultant to build the custom integration from google sheet to RE NXT for you.

  • I can vouch for Importacular as a long-time user. Depending on the nature of what you're importing Excel-wise, you could likely get away with using the free, basic version of Importacular. I've only ever used it in Database View, but I think an integration for NXT is on the way.
