@Giovanni Franco Can you clarify? Where are you referencing/defining "Cash"?

Cash can be a gift type, a pay method. Are you looking at recieved/committed revenue? Are you creating dashboard filters?

Most of the items on your list could be 'cash,' IMO other than GIK and gift type of stock.

  • Yes, everything considered as revuene (cash in hands).

    Thankyou.

  • If you are looking for cash in hand then I would exclude anything that has "pledge" in it (i.e. pledge, matching gift pledge), also "recurring gift", gift-in-kind, and depending on how your organization uses "other." "Stock" is more complicated to my mind as it would depend on how quickly your organization sells the stock. Mine sells it immediately, so for us, stock (we don't use the "sell stock" option in RE) would be "cash in hand."

  • Pledges are also considered as revenue though they are not cash in hand but can be a liability if the pledge goes unfulfilled or not fully fulfilled and all or part of it would need to be written off.

I am not 100% what you are looking for and why you are asking this particular question, but more context would be helpful.

I am using a gift end point and there is a column where the gift_types listed are not the same naming convention that the system (UI) uses.

For example, when you I pulled from the end-poing those are the gift types:

GiftInKind, MatchingGiftPayment, MatchingGiftPledge, Other,Pledge, PledgePayment, RecurringGift, RecurringGiftPayment, SoldStock, Stock

The system uses a different naming convention for the filters related to cash, see below:

    Pay-Cash, MG Pay-Cash,Stock/Property, Stock/Property (Sold), Pay-Stock/Property, MGPay-Stock/Property, Pay-Stock/Property(Sold), MG Pay-Stock Property(Sold), Recurring Gift Pay-Cash, Pay-Other, MG Pay-Other

From the system perspective, I want to know which gift_types are related to cash.
    Thank you.

  • As far as I was aware, planned gifts aren't revenue? As you apply cash gifts to a planner gift (they act akin to a pledge)?

@Suzie Capps I think you are correct. I don't think we are using Planned Gift as it is intended which is why we had it listed as Revenue and Cash previously. We are re-evaluting oursevles too.

  • When I pulled the data using an end point gift related, the records came out with a column "gift_type". The following are the gift types are the one listed below.

    gift_type   (back-end)

    GiftInKind

    MatchingGiftPayment

    MatchingGiftPledge

    Other

    Pledge

    PledgePayment

    RecurringGift

    RecurringGiftPayment

    SoldStock

    Stock

But, the system RE uses a different naming convention for the gift types. Below are the ones are considered cash in RE NXT.

I am trying to group the transactions by types, but there are easy to identify at the first glance. I am expecting to know if anyone has a better understanding on the relationship. Thank you.!

  • I am using a gift endpoint to pull of gift data related, the gift_type field has different definitions that the system uses in the back-end.

    See below:

What I am want to know how these gift types are associated with the system naming convention. Below, are the one we are considering cash.

    Thank you.
