Hi all,

I'm trying to figure out if we're going to run into any issues upgrading our workstations from Windows 7 to Windows 10 64 bit. We are self-hosted RE users. I've read the system requirements but I don't know if we're SQL version or Enterprise version. And I don't quite understand what the distinction between No SP or SP1 means. Our database is the “SQL Server 2012 Enterprise Edition”. What info do I need to determine if we will have backwards compatibility with RE?

    These are questions for your IT staff, more or less. They should be able to tell you what version of Windows you're running. Also, it would also be a question of if you would be upgrading the database server as well.

    Based on the fact that you are SQL Server Enterprise I don't think you are running you RE DB on a Windows 7 workstation. If this is true you upgrading your RE client desktop won't have any issues. Windows 10 has been out for 6 years and is being replaced by Windows 11 later this year. Most RE users have been on Windows 10 for years the client works fine.
