How to adjust a gift made through a donation form?
New to Altru and could use some guidance…
Finance asked about a gift made through an online form. It (the form/donation) appears to be linked to our GenOps designation, which generally speaking, would be ok for most donations. In the form comments field, however, the donor requests that his donation be applied to an existing pledge, which is actually restricted to another designation. I don't see an option allowing me to adjust the order/payment of the gift to be applied to the pledge and the designation. Right now, it looks like duplicate payments are being recorded to be applied to the pledge, which is not something I want to do.

Hi Jon,Online donations can't be applied to a pledge. What we do is “refund” the online payment to “payment type: other, online credit card” (because you don't want to truly refund the gift) and then re-enter the gift as a pledge payment also using payment type: other, online credit card.
