Running Multiple Reports at Once

In the database view, you used to be able to add reports to a queue and run them all at once and they would download into a folder you specified. Is there any way you can do that in the web view? This was so convenient since we have 30+ reports we run/download at the end of the month.

Not in a queue, but you could set a schedule on your 30 reports. Say I want it Monthly, the date of the month to run and it will email the reports. Also now with the recently generated tab, if you look there , any report run, scheduled or manually should show there for 3 days after it's run.

  • Yes and no. Since they improved how reports are "generated", you can generate all 30 reports at the same time, but no one in your organization will be able to run anything else until they slowly process through. Some will time-out and cancel themselves. If your entire organization runs more than one or two reports at once, it will slow everything down. Some days large reports will take 10-20 minutes as normal. Other days, tiny reports which normally take 10 seconds will take 3 hours. This is a real life example with no exaggeration. The other person who responded to this suggested scheduling reports if possible. I recommend that and scheduling it for the middle of the night if possible. You may want to stagger the times that they start because of the issue mentioned above.

    Blackbaud is threating continuous improvements.

  • We are experiencing MAJOR issues due to the reporting change. Someone ran a full financial statement report (incorrectly) and blocked the whole queue for two days. So I do not recommend running multiple large reports at once unless you are scheduling them for overnight. We've now updated the security settings so it can't happen again, but blackbaud told us there is no way to cancel a report once you've started running it. Their only suggestion was to come to the community page and request this change, so here we are requesting the ability to cancel a report once it has been run and "upvoting" every report-related post!

  • Hello Kathryn, you mentioned updating security settings to prevent people from running a full financial statement report ( I am assuming with no filters). Can you provide details of what settings you changed to prevent this? I expect this to happen to us eventually.

    Thanks,
