Deleting Solicitors in NXT

In database view you're able to delete solicitors from relationships, but in RENXT you're only able to "end" the relationship. I hope BlackBaud brings that feature back in future NXT updates because it makes querying solicitors much more simple. I'd rather have the historical information about solicitors on gifts or opportunities.

That is requesting ability to delete solicitors in WV. If you can add a comment with reasons why this ability is necessary for your work, that would be great too as we've been told that comments explaining case uses influence BB's decisions on whether to add/change/adjust requested features.

Here are some solutions in the meantime:

If Constituent Lists work for your needs, they only list current fundraisers. You can save lists as a static query if you need to drill down further.
In Export, you can set the start and end date for the fundraiser to today's date to export only the current fundraiser(s).

By only being allowed to make them "inactive", instead of removing them, this clogs up existing queries showing Volunteer Solicitors/Assigned Fundraisers because we now need to change all of our queries to reflect only showing "active" assigned fundraisers instead of all. NXT should be making things easier, not causing us more steps.

It is important to be able to delete a solicitor relationship rather than end-dating it. The use case is this: at the start of the fiscal year, when we are reviewing assignments, we sometimes add relationships provisionally. After a few days of evaluation, we may decide to change an assignment — meaning the relationship was never truly active. It was created in error and should be removed entirely, not closed with an end date.

Yes exactly! I've found that not being able to delete the fundraiser relationships just complicates the function.

Agree. There are things I do once a year or twice a year so I may not have tried doing them in WV yet and I don't have the time to try and do them outside of their scheduled time just to see how the process is different and what is missing so I can go hunt the idea bank or add my own idea requesting the functionalities that are available in dbv.
