Tracking requirements for graduation when student transfer in

Hello!

A significant percentage of our graduating classes enter after 9th grade; we only include our own courses on our transcripts. We are looking for a way to share progress towards graduation requirements with advisors to assist in the course planning process; it's easy to share an unofficial transcript for those who started in 9th grade, but we're looking for a simple solution for students who enter as 10s or 11s. Is there a) a place where we can enter this information to have it recorded but not on our transcripts, and b) a report or form we can run?

Thank you!

  • @Rebecca Plona - You can enter the courses into Blackbaud as transfer courses and make the equivalent a comparable course in your curriculum, so the transfer course is captured as fulfilling the requirement. On your transcript, for Course types to include select "Only internal courses."

  • Thanks! Would we then, for course selection purposes, run a "transcript" that included all courses so that advisors can see their advisees' progress towards graduation requirements?

  • @Rebecca Plona - There are two ways you have advisors see the completed requirements: 1. Construct an in-house transcript that includes the transfer courses. This is very easy to do. Just copy the template you use for your main transcripts and select "Both internal and transfer courses from outside schools" for the Course types to include option. 2. Have the advisors review the requirements via the via tab on their advisees' records.

  • Thanks so much, Scott. Would the transfer courses show up under the "Progress" tab in Performance if we entered them this way?

  • @Rebecca Plona -

Faculty > Groups > Advisory > Advisees > click the context menu (circle with 3 dots) > Select Requirements > expand requirements as needed to see the transfer course

    Hope that helps.

  • Thanks!!
