Narrowing on one Constituency Code - Faculty/Staff

Hi Community!

I am working on some enhancements to our Weekly Ack Report.

We have been reviewing the report against a Faculty-Staff list to identify, but now we are maintaining that data within RE via a Faculty/Staff Constituency Code.

Faculty/Staff is not a primary Constituency Code. I'm having trouble determining the most efficient way to do this as ultimately I want to automate the report. Any ideas on how to isolate (narrow in on) a particular Constituency Code for an Export for this report to identify Faculty-Staff amongst weekly donors?

Thank you in advance for any help!

just a thought - would it be easy to use Faculty/Staff as the gift constituency and use that field as report filter? If entered on their pledge/recurring gift it would follow thru to payments.

Are their gifts due to a specific appeal like 'campus campaign'? Would that appeal code help filter your export?

  • Thanks for the thoughts JoAnn! No, all the gifts from F/S are not necessarily tagged to a specific appeal.

For other use cases, I am hoping to be able to focus on the Constituency Codes. I will inquire with the GP team though on if they do any special gift coding relative to F/S gifts, but my hunch is that they do not.

Couldn't you just add another column that would be the 2nd Constituency Code and have that only be Faculty Staff. That way if one of the records has something else as the primary, the extra column can capture the Faculty/Staff Code.

  • Hi Joe,

We have multiple Constituency codes, so we could not be sure that Faculty-Staff would be the next one up. I would have to take multiple layers and only look for Faculty-Staff. Maybe I could get that to work with Automation, but right now as I do manually with many other custom manual changes after pulling the data, I am looking for a less labor intensive solution if possible. If you feel I am missing something, please let me know.

    Thank you so much!

It does not matter how many you have. You have the one column pull the primary constituency, then have the 2nd column pull just the Faculty/Staff Code (which is doesn't matter where it is located, it will pull just that code. This way you will capture all of the Faculty/Staff code with these two columns. Below is for the 2nd column. Your first column will pull the primary.
