Batch Validation Report doesn't show Fund correctly

I've been testing the new batch validation report and I've noticed that Fund always appears as <Split>. None of the funds in my batches are split. Is this a bug?

This would be something we would consider a bug. This report should match the experience we have in database view. We have seen a couple issues that we have already remedied but this one has not come thru the support channel yet.

Support told me that if a batch has gifts with multiple funds (meaning gifts with different funds are in the same batch), instead of displaying each fund in the validation report, it will show <Split>. Is this something that can be fixed in the future? We should be able to see the fund in a validation report.

I have a batch with 1 gift that has no split and it is showing as <Split> so I'm still inclined to think this is a bug. I'll be interested to find out from @Anthony Gallo if what support told you is accurate as it should mimic DBV and give us the details on the split.

Support called me today. It appears the issue is actually a character limit on the Fund Description. If a Fund Description is too long, the Fund appears as <Split>. Hopefully the character limit can be increased.

If that's the correct reason - characters vs. glitch, that is not going to work for us. Many of our funds have long names. EX: William & Margaret Whitehead Electrical Engineering Scholarship.

Showing the limited # of characters would be better than <Split>.

@JoAnn Strommen , Support just called me again. They now think the problem isn't the number of characters, but the use of commas. Through testing, they noticed that Fund Descriptions that have a comma show up as <Split>. Blackbaud is working on a fix for this.

Ahhh! While I don't like this answer, it does make sense to me as this particular organization uses a LOT of punctuation in the fund name. Thanks for the update, Paige!

We also get "Split" in the fund column if the gift is split, even if all gifts have the same fund (i.e. there are split appeals). For gifts that are split, the fund is correct in the SplitFund column but this is blank for non-split gifts.

Note: I am referring the the csv file because my batch was too big for webview to create a pdf file. I have an open case with support because the data in the Batch Control Report csv file is not aligned with the headings in the file, there are 29 headings in the file but only 27 columns of data. The data in th 27th column matches the 29th header. As some of the columns are blank it is hard to tell what data is missing.

Just an update. This issue has been fixed. Fund IDs with commas appear like they should.
