Duplicating a Gift on Same RE Record

Hello!

Does anyone know if you are able to duplicate a gift from within RE on the same record

Say if a person gives the same $100 a year to the same campaign/fund/appeal can I open the gift record and copy it to a new gift record?

I see a Save and Add New under File but I'm thinking more like a Save As or Add New but keep all the coding

Hi, Joanne,

Don't know that you can copy it. Too many potentially different fields I'm guessing. When I've wanted same info I open new gift record and existing side by side and copy field by field.

Thanks JoAnn - that is what I've done as well but our gift processor was asking and I wondered if there was an easier way - like Clone a Gift

I was just doing a load default for an action...got me thinking do they have this feature for a gift? I know they do for other constituent areas

Yes, Joanne Felci‍ there are defaults for gifts so that could be a "copy a gift" solution.

Joanne Felci‍, it is through default sets as described by this KB article. The drawback would be that you are creating a default set for a single gift so it may not have additional use, but if you are looking to copy a single gift within the same record it could work.

You can make a Recurring Gift. That way each time you apply a Gift to this constituent the system will ask you if you want to apply it to the Recurring Gift.
