Policy for using AI in fundraising

My organization is looking to create a policy document on how AI can be used in fundraising. I am curious if anyone else has a policy they would be willing to share.

Thanks!

  • Hi @Lisa Kirschner - great question and I am eager to see everyone's responses. I also invite you to join AI Explorers, a group we have started that is open for anyone to join and you can ask the question there as well.

We currently use AI and need to get a policy in place - I'd love to see what others have already created!

  • @Lisa Kirschner Did you create one? We are looking to put one together too and it's been a few months since your original post. Thank you!

  • Erin we are still in the process of creating this. We should have this done by the end of the year.

  • I came here looking as well! We are working on creating formal policies for our organization overall but I want to have a set for our department as well and I wanted to see what other orgs were doing. If someone does have policies in place, I'd love to see what you have.

  • Also interested in this - we're looking at creating AI policies soon. We're a private K-8 school so it would relate to Academics first, but Development IMO would be the second biggest piece.

I'd look at some of the professional organizations for direction, as this has been a hot topic for some time now. I know that aasp has done some work in this field as far as policies. I believe AHP has done some as well. Some larger organizations have created their own closed link AI tools, with a variety of success.

I'd also mention if you were looking to create a policy, consider how you would protect your data.
