The highly anticipated enhancements to the Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge®-ResearchPoint™ integration are now generally available. This blog will summarize the enhancements and provide helpful links for next steps.The long-awaited enhancements to Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge-ResearchPoint integration are now generally available as of May 24, 2023. This release changes how Ratings and Financial Information are appended to constituent records and reported on in Raiser’s Edge and Raiser’s Edge NXT web and database views.


You will notice two distinct enhancements to the Raiser’s Edge-ResearchPoint integration
  1. The Raiser’s Edge Ratings data types will match the type in ResearchPoint, except for table fields which will remain as text data type fields in RE, allowing for an improved user experience using ratings in query criteria and list filters. For example, the Major Giving Likelihood (MGL) rating will now be a number rather than a text data type in RE.
  2. The Ratings Sources, Ratings (Categories), Information Sources, and Financial Data Types tables in RE will have new, unique, and descriptive values, allowing the user to extract select Ratings in separate columns in Export. Note: The Financial Information data will only be available for organizations with the RE: Search, aka the Prospect Management module.
Refer to the table of the previous and current naming conventions to translate how the data will appear after you synchronize the record from ResearchPoint to Raiser’s Edge.

When you are ready, you will need to synchronize all your ResearchPoint prospect records linked to Raiser’s Edge constituent records, so that ratings and financial information is consistent on all Raiser’s Edge records for reporting purposes. Let’s summarize the impact on reporting on Ratings synced from ResearchPoint:
  • Use Export to extract specific ratings with the new, unique Ratings Sources
  • Simplify Query criteria with corrected data type Ratings
  • Build more Lists with Ratings filters with correct data type Ratings
